A Grand Canyon Birthday Celebration to Remember
Some families celebrate birthdays with parties and cake. Others pack their bags and head somewhere wild and awe-inspiring. This family does the lattercelebrating each year of life by exploring the beauty of our national parks.
This year was extra special: it was their babys first trip to the Grand Canyon.
As a Grand Canyon photographer, I get to meet families who make the most of lifes big moments in extraordinary places. Capturing this celebration at Grandview Point along the South Rim was truly an honor.
Why Grandview Point Was the Perfect Spot
When we chatted about where to meet, Grandview Point stood out as the clear choice. Its one of the most stunning overlooks along the South Rimless crowded than some of the other viewpoints but just as breathtaking. The golden light spills across the canyons in the late afternoon, making it a dream location for any photographer for the Grand Canyon. On the day we decided, the clouds hid the sun and it made for perfect even light for our session.
It was peaceful, picturesque, and the perfect place for this family to slow down and soak in the view.
Documenting Their Family Tradition
As a Grand Canyon family photographer, Ive seen firsthand how meaningful these moments areespecially when they’re tied to family traditions. We captured everything from wide scenic shots to playful moments with their little one tucked in between. It was babys first time seeing the canyon, and though she wont remember it, the photos will help tell the story for years to come.
There were sweet cuddles, giggles with dad, a few windy hair moments, and so much love wrapped into this sunset session. And yeswe even got a couple of classic tiny human in front of a giant canyon shots.
